Mike Austin (family…music…technology) Mike has been involved in the production industry for more than 20 years. He has committed to using his gifts and talents to help communicate God's message, through the use of sound, video, and lighting. Mike is the Associate Technical Director here at OPC and works with the arts and technology team to coordinate and execute all things in the technical arena related to services and special events. He was born and raised in Southern California, and moved to Michigan in 2002 with his wife, Angela. The Austins are foster parents, and are planning to adopt as soon as God provides the right opportunity.



Sue Brock (waterfronts…sunsets) is our Director of Events. She loves to take the big picture, add the details to make it happen, and see God glorified as people are blessed. It is her privilege to come alongside the people of Oak Pointe to make their events successful.



Randy Brock (Chuck Swindoll…music…travel) is an associate worship leader at OPC, and is excited to help people connect with God through music. He has been a professional musician for more than 15 years, and has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Walsh College.


Debbie Brunk (digital photography…gourmet cooking…walking to downtown Plymouth) is our Director of Women's Ministries and our Connections Coordinator. Prior to joining the OPC staff, Debbie spent 22 years in engineering at Ford Motor Company/Visteon. She has a BSE (Engineering Materials) from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and a MBA from Eastern Michigan University. One of Debbie’s passions is helping people discover their spiritual gifts, passion and temperament, and then connecting them into a meaningful place of service for God.



Debra Carwile (my grandchildren…whitewater rafting…kayaking) Debra brings Southern hospitality to Oak Pointe—literally! Her job as Assimilation Coordinator is to make sure people feel a warm welcome at OPC, and to help them get connected. Plus, she does it all with a great southern accent. Debra heads up the Welcome Center & welcome team, coordinates our Explore and Connect classes, implements the marriage ministry, and assists with volunteer training.

Roberta Eden (reckless faith…omlettes…snuggling my family) I've always considered myself some kind of artist from print, to web design, tattoos or motion graphics; I'm just blessed to be able to use my gifts and talent for kingdom purposes. I believe people need community today more than ever and are reaching out through technology hoping to find something real. Video can help us meet them in the midst of their search and show them, through our stories, how we found Christ and why it makes a difference!



Jeanne Edwards (family…golf vacations…solving riddles) Even though she is an OSU Buckeye, our Administrative Assistant is thrilled to call Michigan “HOME” after 10 relocations supporting her husband’s career. Having adapted to many different situations and experiences, she truly enjoys her multifaceted job here at OPC.



Karin Falzon (a good book by a fire or beach…flowers and gardening…a long walk) is the Executive Assistant to Jim Bahbah (Executive Pastor of Ministries) and our Wedding Coordinator. Before being a soccer mom and part of the PTA, she was the Special Event Coordinator at the Historic Holly Hotel, and a sales coordinator at the Crown Equipment Corporation. Her most important titles, though, are 'wife' and 'mother'.


Sarah Harpootlian (ipods…office supplies…shoes) is our High School Ministries Assistant.  She has a degree from Oakland University and worked in the Christian music industry and education field before coming to OPC.  She's volunteered with high school and junior high students for 9 years loves doing student ministry full time! She also once almost ran over a member of DC Talk with her car.

Laurel Hillard (music…books…Nascar races and family) is our Administrative Assistant to Connections Ministry and Life Groups. Her husband Ron and their son Jonathan have moved from Michigan to Georgia to Minnesota and now back to Michigan for good! She has a heart for special needs children and was a substitute Para Professional in the special needs classrooms for the South Lyon School District before coming to Oak Pointe. She loves being able to use her administrative and creative skills in ministry and helping out those in need.

Lisa Hopton (sight seeing…family reunions…salmon) is our Financial Administrator. She loves working with numbers, especially with Excel spreadsheets, budgets and keeping the church books balanced. She has a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Analysis (computers and statistics) from the University of Cincinnati which is where she met her husband, who, by the way, is the one who introduced her to the Lord!



Dawn Jones (holding babies…food…family) is one of our administrative assistants, and is also our guest services coordinator and our childcare coordinator for classes and events. What you might not know about Dawn is that she has extensive restaurant experience. She worked at Bill Knapps restaurants for 16 years, starting as a hostess and leaving as a general manager. That's where she met her husband, Bill, in 1986.

Keith Jones (motorcycles…Italian food…rock & roll) is OPC's Operations Coordinator. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Walsh College and has worked in logistics, distribution and related software industries over the past 29 years. Keith is also a member of our Deacon Team.

Michael King (literature, especially Shakespeare…baseball…Beethoven and Paul Simon) is our Arts Director. Michael has worked in the music industry for many years as a recording artist, scoring composer and record producer. He has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Wayne State University, and lives with his wife, Kate, and their 3 children: Maxwell, Nicholas and Nina.



Bethany Lee (Yankee baseball…Seinfeld…music) has been on the staff team for over 10 years and currently works in two departments at OPC. She creates graphics for and handles the details of the worship services, and also works in the communications area doing graphic design, writing, and other miscellaneous projects. She has a degree from the University of Michigan and a background in marketing, event planning, writing, and design. In 2011, Bethany married Matthew, a native of New Zealand.



Tiffany Legato (chai tea…kitty cats…sharpie pens) is our middle school assistant. She attended Liberty University and graduated with bachelors in Religion. In 2007 she moved to Michigan from Missouri where she volunteered in high school ministry and worked with a Crisis Pregnancy Center teaching abstinence education. She met her husband at the Focus on the Family Institute. They live in South Lyon with their cat Bella.
Jane Leonhardt (Family…a good pizza…and Green Bay Packers/WI Badger football games!) is a Coordinator for OPC’s ReNew. Jane and her husband, Doug Olivero, moved to Michigan from Wisconsin in Fall of 2009. She worked at SCJohnson Wax for 30 years and Butter Buds for two years before Doug’s job at Johnson Polymer (now BASF) relocated them to Northville. She was a third generation member of Grace Church in Racine, involved in their Choir and Singles Ministry (prior to Doug!). Jane’s son lives in Madison, WI; step-son/wife live in Baltimore, MD and her step-daughter/husband (Racine, WI) recently blessed them with their first grandson!

Jill Metz (reading…crossword puzzles…any music but country or rap) is the administrator of the International Friends Ministry and OPC Springhill Day Camp Volunteer Coordinator. She has a degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan with minors in Secondary Education and General Science. She loves her family, church, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order.

Margaret Michael (gardening…reading…community) Margaret has worked in education and ministry for years. She and her husband recently moved back to Michigan after 20 years in PA and NY. She loves to grow new leaders, help people "connect", and go to soccer games.


Gail Paulus (warm beaches…pasta…learning new things) recently moved from the Atlanta area with her husband and two teens. She is the Life Group Assistant and loves to connect people to "community." She has a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and has been connecting people in various endeavors for over 30 years. In her opinion, there is nothing like a group to stretch you and help you grow!



Anthony Progar (Camping…Technology…NASCAR) If it makes noise, lights up, projects an image or captures a video signal...we're in my sandbox. As Technical Director at OPC I love to use my B.S. degree in Television Production and 20 years of corporate presentation / entertainment technology to help further the Kingdom.



Wayne Pryce (Detroit Red Wings…Summer boating…smacking a drum) Wayne has been working to maintain the beautiful Oak Pointe Church building since it opened is 2006. Before that he worked at the Ford Wixom Plant for 38 years. Wayne enjoys golfing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends. His wife, Mary Kay, is the choir teacher at Northville High School. The couple has been married since 1978 and is active in the church as life group leaders and marriage mentors. They have two children; Kati who is 26 and works in New York City as a personal trainer, and Steven who is 24 and an art education student at Central Michigan University.



Kurt Schreitmueller (music…food…fitness) is our Director of Music Ministries. Kurt is an accomplished musician and has worked in the music industry for years writing commercial jingles, producing albums and playing at various functions. Kurt has a degree from Hillsdale College.



Beth Swis (praying and worshipping…International House of Prayer…socializing and eating ice cream) is our Prayer Coordinator, prior to joining OPC staff, Beth spent 13 years teaching Kindergarten/First Grade in the public School. She has her masters in teaching reading. It is her dream and privledge to serve OPC family and people of S.E. MI in prayer.



Lindsey Tyrpak (singing…learning anything new…conversation) is our Communications Director. She helps manage the crazy world of communication at Oak Pointe (including the website and printed stuff) and lends her love of graphic design to many of the ministries here. She studied Vocal Performance at the University of Michigan and still sings an occasional aria in her car.
