Hosea 1:10-11

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

Someday it will be impossible to count the people of Israel, because they will be as many of them as there are grains of sand along the seashore. They are now called “Not my People,” but in the future they will be called “Children of the Living God.” Israel and Judah will unite and choose one leader. Then they will take back their land, and this will be a great day for Jezreel.

Devotion

The FAITHFUL LOVE of God stands at the center of the book of Hosea. The names of Gomer’s children convey the message of Israel’s unfaithfulness to God. But in the above verses, we see a prophetic reversal of those names as God continues to show Himself as the faithful covenant keeper! In the New Testament, Paul writes: “Even if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:13). This is the one attribute of God that we all need to hold tightly to and thank Him for daily. He loves us faithfully, steadily and relentlessly. He is a covenant keeping God!

The Big Question

What stands out most to you about the character of God as you reflect on the book of Hosea? Are you surprised by His character?

Spend some time in prayer meditating on what God revealed to you today.
