So what kind of church is OPC? A recent visitor summed it up pretty well with these words: "I've been
attending church all my life, but I have learned more about Jesus and His Word in the past few weeks
than I learned in all my previous years."
Traditional or Un-Traditional?
At Oak Pointe, we've got a bit of "tradition" as well as "un-tradition" running through our veins.
What's traditional about us? Well, we work hard to bring the Bible as it is to people as they are. We believe that the Bible is God's Word,
that Jesus is the Savior, that we should love everyone like Jesus loved them, and that we should live for God with all our heart, soul, mind,
and strength. We believe that the local church exists to make Christ known to a lost world. We meet every week in order to study His
Word and worship Him with our hearts. We don't change God's message, so, in that sense, we're kind of traditional.
What's un-traditional? You'll notice the "un-traditional" right away when you drive up to our building, which is
different than any church building I've ever seen. Our music is modern and our dress code is casual. Our services utilize
powerful modern media.
We Care About Community.
When we're not together on Saturdays or Sundays, we're together in life groups. We want everyone who
attends our services to find their way into a life group that fits them perfectly, because we believe
that's where real life-on-life relationships form.
The bottom line for us is this: bringing the unchanging message of Christ to an ever-changing world.
I think God has His hand on Oak Pointe. I think He's building a community of people here for His glory.
