Detroit Church

Volunteer Staff Openings

Connections Lead- To assist Detroit Church Leadership in designing assimilation systems that will help communicate clear next step processes for our attenders. This position will also help to care for new attenders as they connect them with opportunities to engage (i.e. serving teams, Life Groups). (5-7 hours/wk)


Marketing Director – Lead volunteer marketing team and manage implementation strategy as developed by our marketing consultant (includes web, social media, print & apparel). (5-7 hours/wk)


Creative Director – Detroit Church is seeking a talented and accomplished Creative Director to steward Detroit Church’s weekend mission and vision. This position is perfect for someone experienced in developing a creative vision and successfully implementing it within an organization. The Creative Director will work with the Leadership Team to ensure that our weekend experience is E.P.I.C. (Excellent, Participatory, Intentional & Culturally Relevant) as we help people connect with Christ. (10 hours/wk)

Life Remodeled

Life Remodeled is a non-profit organization that exists to remodel lives — one neighborhood at a time. Their annual project includes remodeling a Detroit Public School each summer in order to create academic and athletic improvements. Additionally, they are partnering with the local residents to remove blight in the surrounding area and create safe and inspirational pathways to the school in order to build up and sustain a neighborhood that radiates hope to the rest of the city!

This organization in South Lyon reaches out to both local community and cities in need such as Detroit and Flint. Many ways to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus. Current opportunities including Easter baskets and sandwich ministry.

Handyman Ministry

Our Handyman Ministry connects people who cannot afford to pay for repairs with tradespeople who can perform these repairs. We maintain a list of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics, and others who are willing to provide services at no cost or at a discounted rate. Active Faith

Active Faith provides long term and temporary assistance to the elderly, the disabled, single parent families, and those who have fallen on hard times. The assistance is given with the intention of helping people regain the ability to provide for themselves. Active Faith provides food, clothing, tutoring, and funds for utility payments.

Northville Civic Concern

Northville Civic Concern was founded in 1983 by a group of citizens with a passion for helping those in need in Northville. Run entirely by volunteers, NCC distributes food on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.

Hospitality House

The mission of Hospitality House is to end hunger in the Walled Lake & West Bloomfield area. They operate a food pantry and provide referral services to residents. Hospitality House also offers advice and aid to pantries in other cities as they work to fight hunger in greater southeastern Michigan.

Foster Care

The Foster Care Navigator Program offers a free service to Michigan residents who are either currently licensed foster parents or interested in becoming foster parents. This dedicated team is made up of experienced foster and adoptive parents who act as advocates for foster families and children. Prison Ministry

Our Prison Ministry reaches out to a forgotten society with the love and compassion of Jesus. The Women’s Prison Ministry has been instrumental in leading many young female inmates to Christ at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.
