2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Spend time in prayer and silence with God, asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders, and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie, so that all will be condemned—those who did not believe the truth but delighted in unrighteousness.

– 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Devotion

Paul reminds the Thessalonians that the anti-christ will be a powerful and very charismatic figure. He will perform many miracles so that some will say he is the Messiah. Those that have rejected the truth concerning Jesus will be mesmerized by this captivating figure. They will easily believe the lie because in their hearts they have rejected Jesus. The time to embrace the truth about Jesus is now! Don’t wait until it’s too late! Be ready! Be alert!

The Big Question

Have you put your trust in the One who was sent to save you from your sin? Have you humbled your heart before a holy God and proclaimed, “I am a GREAT sinner and Christ is a GREAT Savior!?” Scripture declares, “Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved!” Call out to Him today! Embrace the truth (the person and work of Jesus).

Conclude your time in prayer and silence, reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
