Acts 17:6-7

Spend time in prayer and silence with God, asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

When they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the other brothers before the city officials, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here too, and Jason has welcomed them. They are all acting contrary to Caesar’s decrees, saying that there is another king—Jesus.”

Devotion

Throughout the Acts series, Bob has asked the question: “Do we live like that?” Do we reflect the lives of the early believers? In a very short period of time, Christianity “turned the world upside down.” As you read through the book of Acts, it becomes very clear that the early believers had a significant impact on their world for Christ. Despite fierce opposition and severe persecution, they were faithful to proclaim the Good News of Jesus. They did not let the threat of persecution stop them from testifying to the Gospel of God’s grace. Many of these early believers were martyred for their faith. Paul would now make his way toward Jerusalem where he will be arrested and sent to Rome to stand trial for his faith in Jesus.

The Big Question

Do you live like this?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence, reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
