Bible Reading

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Devotion

Peter was a simple man who understood one thing: Jesus was crucified, buried, resurrected, and ascended back to the Father. This simple knowledge caused him to be bold as he proclaimed the Good News of Jesus! The result was the Lord adding three thousand new souls to the church that day. Sometimes we complicate things by thinking it is our duty to convince people concerning Jesus. This is the Holy Spirit’s responsibility. It is our task to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8). We are to declare the Good News of Jesus to the nations and let God add to the church as He sees fit. So, the pressure is off! There is a new way to live! As you begin each day, ask the Lord to give you opportunities to declare the Good News of Jesus. Get ready to see God do some amazing things!

The Big Question

Do you believe that Christ died for your sins according to the Scriptures? Do you believe that He was buried? Do you believe He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures? If you said, “Yes,” to all three of these questions, then you are called to be Jesus’ witness in Novi, Michigan, the United States, and all the world. So, I will ask you for the third time this week: who is in your top three?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence, reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
