Responding to Crisis

The Oak Pointe Disaster Relief Team responds to natural disasters that occur within the continental United States. Our team partners with the North American Ministries arm of Samaritan’s Purse to come alongside impacted homeowners to provide help and hope in Jesus’ name after hurricanes, tornados, floods, and other such occurrences.

The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.” Our Disaster Relief team members are simply being obedient to that call as they have time and availability.

Signing up for the Disaster Relief Team does not mean you will be expected to respond to every disaster. Rather, you will be the first notified when Oak Pointe Church plans to respond to a crisis, giving you the opportunity to consider joining that team.
