Ezra 6:14-18

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preaching of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo. They finished building the temple according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia. The temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of King Darius. Then the people of Israel-the priests, the Levites and the rest of the exiles-celebrated the dedication of the house of Go with joy.

Devotion

The Jewish exiles returned and, amid great opposition, rebuilt the temple of Yahweh. They were encouraged by the prophetic ministries of Haggai and Zechariah, who helped them overcome their fear of opposition. The temple was dedicated and a Passover celebration was held. The people were encouraged and challenged by godly leaders and a spiritual revival began in the land.

The Big Question

Our spiritual lives should always be our first priority, for everything else flows out of our devotion (or lack thereof) to God. Jesus said, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you.” What are you doing to build/strengthen your spiritual life?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
