Bible Reading

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

– Isaiah 55:9

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

– Proverbs 15:22

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

– James 1:19-20

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

– Isaiah 43:18-19

Then the Lord replied:

“Write down the revelation and make it plains on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time, it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

– Habakkuk 2:2-3

Devotion

Transitions in life can be scary unless we rely on God. Be open to God’s plans, motives and amazements in your new season. It is good to surround yourself with wise, Godly counsel. This may include friends from a Life Group, a pastor or a good buddy. As God unveils His plans for your life be quick to listen and slow to speak. Go out of your way to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. Be patient and slow to anger.

Your transition may be a tense time after all.

Let God direct your ways. Praise Him for all has done and will do in your life. Ask Him to remove all fear and anxiety during this time.

You may want to consider another strategy as well. If your transition has you confused about where to go next, write down what you want to accomplish.

Ask your wise counselors to pray with you about your big dreams.

According to pastor and author Mark Batterson you should be willing to dream big dreams because you serve a big God. Batterson asks in his book; Circle Maker, if you ever feel there is more to prayer and God’s vision for your life. If transition in your life is racing at you, dig down and uncover your heart’s deepest desires and dream big. Take these dreams to your big, bold God who delights in answering prayer. Be patient because God answers in His time. But pray unceasingly. Dream again!

The Big Question

Those who God uses greatly, He forms greatly. How long will you wait to hear from God about your big dreams?

Conclude in prayer and silence reflecting on what you’ve learned.
