John 14:11-13

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

“Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.”

– John 14:11-13

Devotion

As part of our spiritual formation process, Jesus works to transform our thinking regarding our impact in the world. In the above text He says, “He (You) will do even greater things than these.” Jesus had performed some amazing miracles up to this point. Now he is telling His followers that they will do even greater things. Jesus’ miracles were to affirm His identity and mission. When He left this world, He passed on the baton of His mission to the church. We now have the great honor and privilege of being Christ’s Ambassadors in this world. We have been entrusted with this great message of reconciliation. This Good News has the power to impact people’s lives for eternity. As faithful followers of Jesus, we have the power to have maximum impact in our world.

The Big Question

Do you believe that God can use you to impact your world for Christ? If not, why not? What adjustments do you need to make to be a good steward of the “message” and “ministry” of reconciliation entrusted to you? How is God using you to impact your world for Christ?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence, reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
