John 20:30-31

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.

– John 20:30-31

Devotion

The miracles of Jesus, as recorded in the four Gospels, are super-natural; but they are precisely the kinds of deeds that we might expect “God in the flesh” to perform to assure us of His true identity. Jesus exercised power over nature, over disease, over demons, and over death. The small sampling of miracles in the Gospels are there for a single purpose: “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God”. The miracles were not man-made myths. They were divine credentials that Jesus was who He claimed to be – the Son of God and Savior of the world.

The Big Question

Outside of the things that Jesus said, what other evidence do we have that Jesus was who He said He was? Do you believe in divine miracles? Have you ever experienced a divine miracle in your life? Without the record of these divine miracles, how would we know that Jesus was God’s long-awaited Messiah?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence, reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
