Nehemiah 6:15-16

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

– Nehemiah 6:15-16

Devotion

After just fifty-two days, the work God lead Nehemiah to do was accomplished. This was truly a miraculous feat. As a result of this miracle, Israel’s enemies took notice of what had happened. They were afraid because they knew that God was the One who had accomplished this great feat. Nehemiah and the Israelites stepped out in faith and obedience and God revealed Himself in a powerful way.

The Big Question

It is amazing to see what God can do when His people follow Him in faith and obedience. What is impossible for man is possible with God. As believers, God has called us to “make disciples” of all nations. When we step out in faith and obedience to the “Great Commission”, there is no telling what God could do. Are you involved in the process of making disciples? Do you allow fear to keep you from following where God might lead you? We are all part of a bigger plan! Are you sitting on the sidelines or are you in the game?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
