Philippians 2:5-11

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted Him to the Highest Place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Devotional

The last four days we have seen four different portraits of Jesus through the eyes of the different authors of the gospels. Each portrait was unique in showcasing different aspects of this historical figure we call Jesus. There is also symmetry, in that, there are common threads that run throughout all four gospels. In the end, we each must decide what we believe about Jesus. Was Jesus a liar? Was he the best conman that ever walked the face of the earth? Was Jesus a lunatic? Was he just a crazy man that thought he was the Son of God? Or is He Lord? Could Jesus truly be who He claimed to be?

The Big Question

Each of us must answer Jesus when He asks “Who do you say that I am?”. How do you answer this question? How has this precious Son of God, through these four portraits, encouraged you to believe and follow?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
