Survey Says…

June 3, 2021

If you missed it, this past weekend I shared an update during weekend services about the Pastoral Transition, and specifically the results from the Congregational Assessment Survey in which many of you participated. You can watch it here.

The survey was administered back in March and we received over 1000 responses making the survey very statistically relevant. Our search partner, NL Moore & Associates, has used the results of the survey to build the profile document that we are using in our search for the next lead pastor.

We are thrilled at the results of the Congregational Assessment Survey. While there is certainly room for improvement in most areas of church life, you let us know where we stand, and that news is very positive.

Thank you for participating in the survey and for continuing to pray for the process of finding the next lead pastor of Oak Pointe Church.

Jim Hobbs,
Executive Pastor

Takeaways from the Congregational Assessment Survey

From your responses, three main things stand out:

A Transformational Church
Oak Pointe is a transformational church. This means the energy and the satisfaction levels in our congregation are high. Therefore, we are poised for growth.

Agreement on Top Priorities
The various age demographics at Oak Pointe agree on the following top priorities for our church:

  • Reach new people and incorporate them into church life
  • Create opportunities for meaningful relationships (life groups, community, etc.)
  • Equip people for ministry
  • Expand outreach to those living on the margins of society

High In Theology

  • As a church, we are theologically conservative with a high view of scripture, being firm on the “what” but flexible on the “how”
  • For individuals, our faith is central in our lives, not an add-on
