Zechariah 2:10-13

Spend time in prayer and silence with God asking Him to meet with you and speak to you.

Bible Reading

“Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the Lord. “Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. The Lord will inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. Be still before the Lord, all mankind, because He has roused Himself from His holy dwelling.”

– Zechariah 2:10-13

Devotion

In this passage, the Lord is revealing to the Israelites that one day He will come and take up residence with them in Jerusalem. In this future time, other nations will also live with the Lord and worship Him in Jerusalem. This time period is also referenced in Isaiah 2:2-3. All of this looks forward to the time of the Millennial Kingdom. During this time period, the Lord will be in His holy temple. This looks forward to His visible presence on earth during the Millennium. This prospect for the future should have been an encouragement to those people in the day of Zechariah.

The Big Question

This passage should also be an encouragement to us today. God has a plan and purpose for each one of us. He is working in our lives today. How does this vision of the future encourage you today? Are you walking in step with the Lord and going in the same direction as Him?

Conclude your time in prayer and silence reflecting on what God revealed to you today.
